About You
The Head of IT Operations will oversee the Corporate IT, Service Desk, Problem and Change Management (ITIL) functions of Carsome Group
Your Day to Day
- Responsible for the live technology operations and acting as the gatekeeper for the implementation of change onto the live environments, overseeing go/nogo decisions and deployment communications.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate asset information for hardware and software to drive asset management and renewal.
- Responsible for establishing and implementing contingency plans and tested operational practices to cope with a range of major disruptions and disaster event situations.
- Defining, delivering and operating a fit-for purpose and affordable IT Infrastructure including servers, storage, LAN, WAN, client devices including BYOD and general office software.
- Establishing operational measures, controls and capacity planning to ensure the efficient operation and optimised cost of the operational environments.
- Defining, delivering and operating the IT Support Services for all our colleagues, experience centres, website and offices covering all operational hours.
- Recruit, mentor, and motivate a high-performance IT operations staff.
Your Know How
- Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science (or relevant)
- Solid leadership and experience in IT Operations which include Corporate IT, Service Desk, Problem and Change Management.
- Empowering leadership style, supportive with those learning and with sufficient controls to ensure progress is assured with the team and outsourced suppliers and partners.
- Excellent team player, flexible, responsive, takes ownership and can work on the details in a real time environment that requires out of hours work as necessary.
- Have demonstrable experience in defining, delivering and running IT operational services in a multi-site organisation with in excess of 20 sites and 2000 employees.
- Experience in leading teams and suppliers to transform IT services to deliver excellent service and better value for money.
- Experience is running supplier bid and selection processes on trading critical services.
- Demonstrable experience in applying ITIL principles in pragmatic and creative ways that deliver real results.
- Be familiar with defining, sourcing, deploying and supporting technologies in consumer centric businesses including retail technologies, data communications, telephony, web and mobile technologies.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload, understanding impact of services on the business.
- Problem solving skills and resilience to issues and influences outside of his/her control
